STRICT NEUTRALITY.!!
LANDOX, Det. 8.
According to semi-oficial information from Athens the new Cabinet, in sccordance with the Kipg's desires, have decided to maintain strict neutrality. The King is reported to have declared that he did not intend to enter into conflict with any of the Powers. Ele appears to consider the Greco-Serbian Treaty as not compelling Greece to go to Serbia's help in the present cireun stances. His policy appears, in fact, to be the opposite of that advocated by H.

LONDON, Oct. 10. The Germans have been compelled to admit another failure at Dvinsk, where they have long been making despairing eForts to smash the Russians. The battle is now nesuming a new phase. efforts. Now his thrust is ten miles from the fortress. Elia huge gens are try- ing to cut a road through the Russians. Infantry in masses are also employed. but they are only moving by inches, the Russians resisting with superb obstinacy, and even progressing themselves at some points.
Russian warehipa forcely attacked the Germans in the region of Shlock where the enemy left wing reats on the Gulf of Rign some twenty miles from the town of Riga. The naval guns silenced the German batteries, and caused great damage to the trenches. Elsewhere at many points the kassians are dis- playing skilful initiative.
The Russian Staff speaks of hot bayoust engagements in the Pripet swamps. It is noticeable that in this kind of work the Easejuns are invariably successful.
