Tempestuous weather is rendering the operations most difficult. The Crown Prince's attack was as farious as ang in the war. The French parpots were melted away by the farious bonibardment. Then began gushes of liquid fire, but the French stood firm and poured sheets of lead at the advancing Germans. Then there was bloody band-to-hand fighting. The Frenchmen were almost hurt ed in masses of Germans, but the reserves, not beeding the gas sheets, made the Somy waver. Eventually the Germans returned to their own trenches, were prevented from bringing up supports by the Freach gaas.
