LARGEST LADIES' AND GENTS HAIRDRESSING
IN THE FAR EAST.
Is their fourth International, Sextiand best France by 3 goals and 2 tries (21 points) to 1 try (3 points). Although the Scots deserved their victory breacan of the way in which they took their chances, they were flattered by the score. as ruuch of the game as Scotland, nad much of the passing of) the hacks was admirable; while the for wards showed dash in the locas, and in the second half secured a larger share of the ball. In only two respects was Scot. land decidedly superior. Their footwork was better than that of the French, and they finished better in attack. Several of the French passing advances would probably bars yielded tries but for the errors on the part of one of the halves, who was 'a weck man. The French for wards played well, and showed skill in getting the ball. The Scuts played a good game; the passing of their backs was at times the best that has been forthcoming for several years. The second try was the result of perfect passing. Dickson was anfe at full back, and made no mis- trike. Augus was sound; Milroy and Gunn were fair at half, and Milroy has often played hotter. The play was fast and exciting, and none of the Scots came out of the mateli without some injury. A disgraceful scene occurred at the close; thousands of abe crowd broke over the ground, and the Scottish players and the refered were mahbed; they were jostled, and few were struck by stones.
HUGBY CLUB MATCHES.
Watsonians seen. to be finding their true form. They gave a splendid all- round display against Kelso, the newly. formed but strong Border club, and nothing ner has been seen at Myreside for many a long day than thecombina tion of the Sch of bucks, especially Augus and Pearson, Royal High School F.P.'s have of late not been taking full advan. tags of their chances, but no such cri- ticism could be urged against them when playing Hawick. Their forwards were in evidence, and they won with great ease. West of Scotland sent a skeleton team to try conclusions with Edinburgh Acade mienka, and of course were severely de- feated. Glasgow Academicals maintain- od their unbeaten record against Jed. forest, but were severely tried by the rushes of be Border forwards. Stewart- onians put up
strong fight against Clydesdale; their backs wato disappoint-

rather startling results. The basvy pro grammont Christmas and Non Tar entail a great strain on the individual Player, and there is always a heavy list Robin of casualities. It is not to be wondered | Sandpipar at, thereforo that, not for the first time. Snipe the Championship has assumed a new Faku phase. Before the festive season opened. Tamar Rangers seemed assured of a third con- secutive triumph; yet to-day Celtic nzo at the top of the division. Coitic, in deed, are now in a very strong position: Usk a team which secures all the points in Finge four matches within eight days, will not Welland Whiting be readily displaced.
Perhaps even mo meritorious was the Widgeon fest of the Rangers in winning two of their three League engagements, and
Woodcock Woodlark losing the third most unluckily after having at least as much of the play as C.36 the winners. Few clubs would care to 0.37 be represented by a team nine short of 0.38 its usual strength; but Bangers were so placed against. Partick Thistle and Hiber-.005 aian, and if the margin in sach case was small, the fact of a reserve deven winning both matches is significant of the part the Ibrox club may be expected to play in the future Cup and League games when the injured men are all back in the Hala.
Raith Rovers did only moderately in lividing the houours with Aberdeen. Heart of Mid-Lothian ought to hare-de- lented wenk Clyde aleren much more decisively than by one goal.
The clubs told the fellowing placed ora the table all the leaders have played 22 games with the exception of Falkirk, who have played 21, and Heurta, 90:-
