At the conclusion of the Darbar His Majesty the King announced the transfer of the seat of the Government of India from Calcutta to Delhi and the establish_ ment of a Govenorship for Bengal with a new Lieutenant-Governorship for Bebar, Chota Nagpur and Orima, and a Chief Commissionership for Assain.
The news was applauded by the oficiala and it is hoped that it will alloy the feeling created by the partition of Bangul, though the verdict of the Bengalese remains to be seen.
