THE KOWLOON SHOOTING
SENSATION..
Evidence at the Magistracy!
The casa in which George Quinn is charged with shooting his wife with intent to murder, was resoned at the Magistancy this morning, before Bir E. R. Hallifax, Bir J. H. Gardiner defended.
His Worship poisted qut that another chargo had been added by the polleo-that of being in possession of a revolver without a licence.
Mr Gardiner Yes. I am objecting to that charge.
His Worship--To being charged at all. Nr Gardiner-Yes, I any it is a moet improper proceeding altogether to link a misdemeanour with a felony.
His Worship-The two charges will be heard entirely separaboly.
Mr Gardiner-The charge ought not to have been preferred at all.
His Worship-I can't help that. The charge is there,
Me Gardiner-Then I will abject to it atraight away and ask you to take my objection. If your Worship refers to the Article It is quite clear tho charge ought not to have been preferred. The universal practice is not to jcits a count of misdemeanour, with a felony.
His Worship-The section simply says they are not to be heard together.
Mr. Gardinor-No, not joined. It is most embarassing to the defence to have those two charges.
His Worship intimated that by would dent with the more serious charge first.

Wituese asked him What with " and ho there upon pulled a revolver nut of his pocket and replied With this." Witness said "Don't by so foolish" and then struggled with him to get the revolver. In the straggle, as she tried to pull the revolver from him," it went off. Then 3ir Road came into the room and witness asked him to go for defendant's people. She also naked her husband to do so hat be refused., The ballet from the revolver hit her, but it was a pure accident. After the nerident witness went into the ether bedroom and before she was taken away defendant cane and spoke to her. She was hit in the back with the ballet. Witness told Mrs Read that she had met with an accident through the revolver going off in a struggle. Mrs Rend took her to the doctor about half an hour later, and she was in hospital for five days Replying to Inspector Langloy, witness said she was standing when the revolver went off.
