4. Drastic Proclamation. {
The Viceroy of Canbou on the 18th March lasted a proclamation forbidding all hawspapers painted in Hongkong in the Chinese langungo from ratoring Canton, of the ground that these journals are in the habit of publishing mischievous articles.

Recs Davies, K.C.;) and a special jury the case was continued in which a Chinese Josmed Lam Fik Chiu, alias Chang Yau Li, is charged under three sounts. The first of these soenean him of conspiring to defend any person witing to lead money [by means of a forged Crown Lense, the second with conspiracy to defraud John Hastings, and the third, with obtaining two cheques, pra for 83,000 and another for $14,338.50, by virtue of certain forged
