Of the ladies, Mrs Belilios was in brilliant furt, and her well-trained voice carried well, notwithstanding the fact that a lot of fings were thoughtlessly drawu ovaribe sounding beard above the platform. Miss Park suffered from this cause, also, but nevertheless her rendering of Woodfords Fluden's setting of the "Kashmiri Song" was decidedly plassing. Mrs Belilios re- ceived a hearty encore and thoroughly well The Great Chinees Awakening, by desarved it. Mr White and Mr Ayris very { ". A. R. ·Aumber and under the circumstances were fairly successful Mr White's song "The Trumpeter" was a success, and he had to ebige again with "The Yeoman of Eng land." Mr Ayrin' solo selection, was most enjoyable.

The humour of the 'oveping was well supplied by Mr Gregory, of Cantón, a veritable genius in his way; and by a fox- terrier, who evidently was under the im pression that friands of his were assem- bling during the realistic description of 'the huntsmen's gathering in the "Dorothy" selection. Mr. Geo, Grimble played the accompaniments all through.

Turning to the instrumental portion of the programme, the-13th-Rajputs-Band- quite came up to the reputation they established a year ago, and which they have never allowed to weaken. The difficult music from Trovatore," so full of barmony, colour, light and shade, the various changes of tempi, the glorious picerere, emphasized by the sad toned bell; the solo, A che suite, and the grand Reale, ware worked up most artistically. The overture to Willum Tell" was so well done, that Mr Coke had to bring his mon back and repeat the finals. An a matter of fact, this work was the best of the evening, and rarely has an audience so un- aximously shown its appreciation of an artistic interpretation of splen

splendid music. Dorothy" the band's last coa tribution, the hunting scene going with a capital swing. It was played with all the stage effects for which this band is now so well known.

It is stated that over 700 people were present at the Concert.
