It consists of: 1, An offer to sell the yards to the trade uniona, 2. An offer of co-partnership to the 'employés or shares in the protite of the companies, on condition that they pledge themselves not to strike, No decision was arrived at, and the men's representatives took five weeks to consider the offer.

NAVAL PUNISHMENTS.

Of the offerses punishable by ordinary law, one was a manslaughter case, forty-one were-thefts or embezzlements, faar were disgraceful conduct, and one was perjury. Thirty-four of the total were modified, and two annulled. None was pardoned. Of the Royal Marines ashore sixty-eight wore court-martillod, two being acquitted and sixty-six sentenced. All the sentences
were carried out.
