SILVER MINE BOUGHT FOR £8,
Mrs Langtry's Lucky Investment,
Lady de Bathe, or, as she more gene rally known, Mrs Langtry, has just received news that silver has been found on her estate in California.
The announcement was made in a cable nossage from a firm of brokers in Sin Francisco. Her solicitor was at once sum-. mored by telephono, and after a conterencs, he left for San Francisco the same night, carrying her power of attorney,
Lady do Batho said she bought the estate for fun, while she was staying at Cursu City, and playing to the Novada miners.
There are about forty acres altogether," she explained, "npd I gave about £6 for the lot I let the little estate lie fallow for some time, and then I thought I would have it oultivated. Silver was discovered while they were sinking a well for inrigs- tion."
Lady de Bathe intends to visit the estate, and will then supervise the working of the
cine.

my reply to your recent letter. I may | B Gabriage, Singapore June 6, Janets Wedgesday, the 17th Juno,
tell you that I have been vicar of this parish since January 1554, and am now in my eighty-fifth posic. My ailment afected my face and forehead. It commented five or six years ago and I had recourse to several remedies ond Dongul bed two physicians. After while I happened to read an adver- tisement about Cuticura and deter- zained to give it a trial. So I began with the Cuticura Soup, then purchated Cuticura Dintment, then added tho Pesolvent, for which I have substituted the Pills. Now I consider myself virtu- ally cared and neither trouble doctor, nor myself, nor any one else about skri affections. 1 have much pleasure in recommending Cuticura Remedies. I use no other soap. but Cuticura for my face and bands.—---
