The past fortnight, his again been a very dopressed me. Aa for prompt loading, fors, for any employment for steamora Faro almost entirely absent. Occasional chartering orders are already beginning to como forward from Baigon for shipment in February, but owners so far decline to nect the inquiries, an account of the low mtes offered by clirterors.
As regards Southern affairs, there have been three fixtures for prompt dates from": Saigon for this port at 11 conte, and another middling sigod boat is being inquired after at same rate, but it goes 1965 without saying that only vessels tanding! regularly between the two ports will accept such terms. There is very little. left now of the obl crop's produce, and the still available remnants are being held for higher prices.

Saigon-Philippines, there has been soro enquiry resulting in a charter at 20 cents per plent for 25000 piculs, and in addition some of the Manila owned bouts are said to have been taken up elsewhere.
Saigon to Java, the fixture of a Nor wegian beat is reported at 23 cents.
Shipments from Bangkok to this are still going on by the regular honts, and business on a larger scale cannot be looked for until the new season has opened.
From Java there is no demand for tonnage in any direction.
Anent Northern freights, nothing fresh can be said. The closing rate from Wuhu and Chinklang to Cuntou for rico stands at 16 candareens.
From Japan a fow more coul charters are on record: Moji to this at $1.40. Wakur mutzu to Canton at 82.20, Kuchmptru to Hongay $2.00
On monthly terms two small vessels have been accured by local Chinese at very low. rates. It is understood that the vessels will be employed in the Saigon trails.
