A London Dealer's Experiment.
At Tower Bridge Police Court on 14th inst. Messrs Brinkley und Co. were fined £o and costs for selling to a costorninger a quantity of Kalou" nuts, which were found to be unwholesome and unfit for food, and the eating of which made severni children ill.
The prosecutor lauded to tuo magistrat e a scientific description of the suspected nuts in the form of an extract from the "Bulletin" of the Royal Horticultural Saciely, which showed that they grow in Central China on trees named Aleuritos Fordu," and were used for producing vil which had poisonous properties.
