KOWLOON-CANTON RAILWAY.
Work at the Tunnel.
Work on the runnal through the Kowloon ble for the Kowloon-Canton railway line is going ahead leadily, but many difficul. tles are being encountered. A visit to the scene of the tunnel yoaterday showed that cutting of two or three hundred feet bas boon taken out of the bido pushing tho work up to where the fars of the tunnel will commence. A hole of about 60, feet has been. driven and shows the difficultles
that will be encountered later or,
In the turnol there is a continual strom of water mid the ground la of such a notule as to require very heavy timbering. The air, to, in the tunnel already abowe in diosts of booting bad, all of which will mean much difaulty when the tunnel pro- per comes to be driven..
Quite a township hes sprung up about the tunel's mouth and it is connected with Taikokisul by a light line of railway for convosing materials. The man have been working 24 hours per day, in shifts of sight hours, at the cutting but owing to the low who are able to work on the face at once progress is alow. The earth ia composed of decayed granite mixed with large racka and is perhaps the most difficult earth to work that could be encountered,

,ན,
Had to Be Washed and Dressed and Even Fed Like a Baby-Suffered -Untold Agony-Afraid to Be Left Alone-Had Despaired of Getting Better-In Awful State. CURED IN ONE MONTH
BY CUTICURA REMEDIES
"I think it nothing but right that I should let you know what Cuticura bas dene for me. I had eczema for three years and I was under doctor's treatment the whole of the time,"iso the Infirmary, and I could not get cured. It would get better for a day "or two, but would break out again worse than ever. At times it was eo bad I had to be washed and dressed and even fed like a baby. It was only my bands and arme that were affceted, but I suffered untold agony, and I got so low I was afraid to be left alone, and I had quite despaired of getting better, but at last I tried Cuticura used three boxes of Cuticura Ointment, And three bottles of Cuticura Pills, and in a month I was cured. That was twelve months ago and I have seen no signs of it returning. I always keep a bottle of Cuticura Pills in the bouse. They do me. more good than anything else, and I never use any other than Cuticura Soap. I think that no matter how bad any one was, if they gave the Cuticura Remedies a fair trial, they would cure them, for I was in an awful state. Mrs. Conley, 0 Gawen St., off Jock Lane, Holbeck, Leeds, England, Jan. 23, 1908."
