Fire Insurances.-The market has beon. totally neglected, and we have no business to report.
Shipping.-Indo-Chinaa bave continued to rute firm and io small demand at $74; a few shares have changed hands at that, and st time of closing a small demand still exists. Hongkong, Canton and Macaos, owing to the loss of, and/or damage to there their steamers, havo declined to $25 without businem, and it is difficult to give u reliable closing quotation until such time as the losses eustained by the Company are known. Star Ferries are also wosk front samo caussa, and quotation must be taken at more or less nominal. Douglases remain on offer at $17, without any business to report. Shells are in demand at 29/6 and it | is possible that a higher rate would be paid. We have nothing else to report ander this heading.

at that. After the typhoon, however, with the
consequent influx of work, and the improvement in prospects, the "rate gradually rose, and sales were cffected at 8136, 8140, $145 and $150, the market losing with buyers at $156. Kowloon Wharrea, on the other hand. have ruled weaker, and at time of clusing sharos ao obtainable at $97. We have heard of sales. Now Amoy Dooka remain unchanged and without busingas, Shanghai Dooks continua steady to strong, and close in some demand at Tle. 108/108)
