The contigonoy of an out- break of epidemic disease is no purely imaginary one, as the epidemic of Diptheria at Kingston on Thomes; sent Scarlet Fever at Dundos and Fadding- ton; Typhoid Fever at Marylebone; and the great Milk Fever epidemic at Aberdeen, all of which occurred last... year, clearly prove. In all the above cases the source of infestiua was clearly traced to the milk of particular daition, In the case of the now famous Aberdeen epidemic no less than ninety families consisting of some three hundred and twenty people were attacked, and some of the cases proved fatal. A commission was appointed, and the milk was found to be the medium which conveyed sorte virulent matter into the gvatem. The milk had been contaminated after being drawn from the cow by some substance so noxious that when it was administer ed to rats they died. The milk when examined microscopically was found to contain numerous micrococol and bacto- rin spores, whirls were the probable cause of the disease. It was found that the water used in the dairy was collected, amongst other suspicious sources, from roadside ditches and a cistern in the. pyre. The water from this cistern was source of the poison organisms found
