Depots

In spite of the increase in services provided, the Company managed to avoid incurring additional expenses in acquiring new permanent bus depots or sites during the year. At Tung Tau Industrial Area, Yuen Long, a temporary depot was constructed at a cost of $7 million. This depot became operational in August 1992. It replaced the temporary depot at Fung Kam Street which was closed for environmental reasons following the construction of residential blocks in the nearby areas. This new depot, on a site of 9,200 square metres, provides 77 parking spaces and minor maintenance.

The site at the previous Kwai Chung Maintenance Depot, which is surplus to the Company's requirement, was released from bus operation in late 1991. The depot land has a site area of 7,300 square metres and architects have been appointed to plan for its redevelopment.

巴士車廠

儘管提供之服務有所增加,年內本公司仍能 避免在購入新永久巴士車廠或地盤時產生額 外開支。元朗東頭工業區已建成一座臨時巴 士車廠,建築成本為七百萬元。此巴士車廠 已於一九九二年八月啟用,以代替鳳琴街之 臨時巴士車廠,該臨時巴士車廠在鄰近住宅 樓宇建成後,基於環境因素而關閉。此新巴 士車廠之土地面積爲九千二百平方米,可提 供七十七個泊車位。

按照本公司目前之需要,位處葵涌之前巴士 維修廠已無須用作經營巴士業務,故已於一 九九一年底停止使用。該廠佔地七千三百平 方米,現已委聘建築師計劃重建。

Bus Shelters

New Alunimium Bus Shelters provides

better protection in bad weather.

新鋁質巴士上蓋使乘客免受日晒雨 淋之苦。

In line with the emphasis on better services to passengers, as expressed in our corporate mission, the Company is continuing its programme, to build an additional 196 aluminium bus shelters which commenced in October 1992. These aluminium bus shelters will provide better protection in bad weather.

In locations where aesthetic considerations are of critical importance, special bus shelters are designed to harmonise with the environment. For example, shelters at the toll plaza of the Hong Kong Cross Harbour Tunnel and at the Shing Mun Tunnel were constructed with skylight roofing.

有蓋巴士站

為配合公司之宗旨,為乘客提供更佳服務,本 公司繼續興建鋁質巴士站,於一九九二年十月 開始,加建一百九十六個鋁質巴士站,此等巴 士站,可免除候車乘客日晒雨淋之苦。

在需要注重美學效果之地點,本公司更會設計 特別之巴士站,以便與四周環境融合一致。例 如香港海底隧道及城門隧道收費站附近之巴士 站即以透明上蓋建造。
