In September 1992, KMB exhibited the first "Environmental Protection Bus"
to disseminate "green" messages.
一九九二年九月,九巴展出首部 「環保巴士」,向市民傳遞有關 環保方面之「綠色」訊息。
Environmental Protection
As the largest bus operator in Hong Kong, the Company is certainly aware of its social responsibility and support environmental protection. Two Gardner LG1200 turbo-charged diesel engines with improved exhaust emissions were purchased, and a further 25 such engines are on order for evaluation purposes. We are taking the initiative to comply with the EEC'S Euro 1 standard and all buses purchased in 1993 and onwards will meet this
standard.
To inform the public of our new policy, Mr Aaron Kwok Fu Shing has agreed to act as our "Environmental Protection Star" to disseminate
“green” messages, and in September 1992,we exhibited the "Environmental Protection Bus", an air-conditioned double-deck bus with a low-emission diesel engine. While the clean engine reduces the bus's exhaust emissions, the filter incorporated with the air-conditioning unit keeps the air inside the bus cleaner and fresher.

作為香港最大之巴士公司,本公司對於本身之 社會責任自然時刻關注,對環境保護問題亦全 力支持。本公司現已購入兩台廢氣排量較低之 吉拿LG1200渦輪增壓柴油引擎,並已再訂購二 十五台該等引擎以作評估。本公司率先致力遵 守歐洲共同體之歐洲第一標準,一九九三年及 其後所添置之巴士將全部合符該標準。
為使廣大市民了解九巴之新政策,本公司已獲 郭富城先生答應擔任本公司「環保之星」,向大 衆傳遞有關環保方面之「綠色」訊息。在一九九 二年九月,本公司展出「環保巴士」,此乃一部 裝有低排量柴油引擎之冷氣雙層巴士,除該引 擎可減低巴士廢氣外,車內冷氣裝置所加設之 隔塵網亦能令車廂空氣加倍清新。
