SAFETY AND COURTESY
To promote safe driving and courtesy awareness among our bus captains, the Company has a programme under which those bus captains who
perform well receive good service and safe driving. bonuses. We have also continued to conduct our Bus Captain of the Year competition which tests the bus captains' driving skills, as well as their knowledge of the road users' code and safe bus operations. The Company has also presented special award to 99 bus captains who have not had an accident in 5 years and 5 bus captains who have not had an accident in 10 years. These bonuses, tests and awards have brought results: during the past year, in spite of having more buses, the number of bus accidents per million kilometres travelled has significantly decreased by 11.6%. This achievement is most significant at a time when the total number of road accidents in Hong Kong has increased.
道路安全及禮貌活動
為提高車長對安全駕駛及禮貌待人之認識,本公司 正推行一項獎勵計劃,凡表現良好之車長均可獲發 給良好服務獎金及安全駕駛獎金。此外,本公司亦 繼續舉行「九巴傑出車長」選舉,測試各車長之駕 駛技術以及彼等對道路使用者守則及巴士安全操作 之知識。本公司並向九十九名五年來從未發生意外 之車長及五名十年來從未發生意外之車長頒贈特別 獎。此等獎金、測試及特別獎均成效卓著:過去一 年內,儘管巴士數目有所增加,但巴士意外之數目 ( 以行走之每百萬公里計算)郤大幅下降百分之十 一點六。在香港交通意外數目增加之同時,有此成 績,更覺可貴。
