EXTENSION OF FRANCHISE
-
The current franchise of the Company ends on 31st August, 1997. Two applications - each to extend the franchise for a further two years have been submitted to the Government. The application to extend the franchise to 1999 was made in April 1989. While the application to extend the franchise to 31st August, 2001 was submitted in March 1991. The Company is still awaiting approval on both applications.
AIR-CONDITIONED BUSES
To upgrade the quality of KMB services, air- conditioned buses were gradually introduced into the Company's bus fleet. At 31st December, 1991, the Company has a total of 347 air-conditioned
buses. This represents about 12% of our buses or 7% of our total carrying capacity.
延長專利權
本公司現時之專利權有效期至一九九七年八月三十 一日止。目前已向政府提交兩份申請書,每份均為 申請將現有專利權續期兩年。要求將專利權延至一 九九九年之申請書已於一九八九年四月提交,而另 一份要求將專利權再延至二零零一年八月三十一日 之申請書則於一九九一年三月提交。兩份申請仍有 待批准。
冷氣巴士
為求提高服務質素,本公司旗下車隊已逐漸引進冷 氣巴士。於一九九一年十二月三十一日,本公司共 有三百四十七部冷氣巴士,相當於旗下巴士數目之 百分之十二,或總載客量之百分之七。
