AMENDMENT OR REPEAL.

60. The Telephone Ordinance, 1925. (No. 9 of 1925), -contd.

(24) Section 44 as renumbered-the word "is" is substituted for "shall be" in the first line, "to the Accountant-General" for "the Treasurer in the third and fourth lines. "thinks" for "shall think in the fourth and the seventh lines, and "continues" for "shall continue in the eighth line.

(25) Section 45 as renumbered-the figures "46" are substituted for "43" in the fifth line and the words "Accountant-General' for "Treasurer" in the sixth line and "the same" for "such breach" in the penult- imate line.

(26) Section 46 as renumbered-

(i) the word "shall" in the first line is repealed;

(ii) paragraph (a)--the words "fails" and “neglects" are substituted for "fail" and neglect" in the first line aud "are" for "shall be in the second line, and the words "taking over the existing telephone undertaking and for in the second and third lines are repealed;

(iii) paragraph (b)-the word "goes" is substituted for go" in the first line;

(iv) paragraph_(e)-the word "ceases' is substituted for *cense";

(v) paragraph (d)--the word "sells" is substituted for "sell" and "assigns" for “assign` in the first line, and "has" for "shall" in the eighth line, and the words 'shall' in the fourth line, "have" in the ninth line and "of" and "nature" in the eleventh line, and the figures (1) and "(2) in the fifth and thirteenth lines respectively, are repealed;

(vi) the figures "52" are substituted for "49" in the thirty-sixth and the seventy-third lines;

(vii) the word "elects" is substituted for "shall elect" in the fifty-first line, "gives" for "shall give in the fifty-fourth line. and "may" for "shall" in the sixty-

seventh line.

(27) Section 47 as renumbered-

(1) paragraph (a) the word "were" is substituted for "may be" in the first line, and "on the 26th day of June, 1925" for "at the date of the commencement of this Ordinance" in the second and third lines;

(ii) paragraph (b)-the words "now or hereafter in the first line are repealed;

(iii) paragraph (c)—the following is sub- stituted-

"(c) telephone lines maintained by Cable
