232.-—(1) Subject to the provisions of regulation 238 the roof of every tank in an installation shall be impermeable to inflammable vapour,
(2) Nothing in this regulation shall prevent the fitting to any roof of any explosion hatch or other means of releasing pressure exerted from the interior of the tank.
(3) This regulation shall not apply to any floating roof.
233.-(1) Every installation shall be closed, and no work shall be permitted therein, between the hours of sunset and sunrise, unless-

(a) the installation is lighted by electricity throughout,
(b) special permission to open the installation and to do work therein has been given by the proper authority.
(2) Such permission shall only be given in case of emergency.
234. No fire or naked lights of any description shall be permitted or used in any installation except in such parts thereof as are specially allocated for smoking or consist of offices, living quarters, soldering sheds, laboratories, engine rooms, boiler houses, workshops, or smithics.
235. All electric lamps in and about every tank, storage shed or other place in any installation where low flash liquid or high flash liquid is stored or handled shall be enclosed in a protecting glass cover which shall be so constructed and fitted as to prevent the entry of inflammable vapour.
236.—(1) All switches and fuzes connected to any electrical circuit in any installation shall be euclosed in boxes so constructed and fitted as to prevent the entry of inflam- mable vapour.
(2) No such box shall be situated inside any storage shed or other place where low flash liquid and/or high flash liquid is stored or handled.
237.-(1) An enclosure shall be formed round each tank or group of tanks in an installation either by building a surrounding wall or embankment above ground level or by lowering the tank or group of tanks into an excavation.
(2) The capacity of every such enclosure shall, unless the proper authority otherwise permits, be not less than-
(a) the capacity of the tank or group of tanks, if low flash liquid is contained therein, or
(b) one fourth of the capacity of the tank or group of tanks, if high flash liquid is contained therein.
(3) Every such enclosure shall be so constructed as to prevent the leakage therefrom, in any circumstances what- ever, of any inflammable liquid, whether ignited or not.
238.—(1) Every tank in an installation shall be pro- vided with ventilating openings or with a relief valve of a type approved by the proper authority.
(2) Every ventilating opening shall be covered with two parallel diaphragms, or with a flame arrestor approved by the proper authority.
