27. Every Mode A store shall——

(a) be situated at such distance from every highway, street, public thoroughfare, and public place as may, in the opinion of the Licensing Authority, be safe, and

(b) unless it is an excavation, be provided with an efficient lightning conductor.

28.-(1) The interior of every Mode A store shall be kept scrupulously clean and shall be so constructed as to prevent any grit, iron, steel, or similar substance from coming into contact with any explosive kept in the store.

(2) Suitable footwear must be provided for and worn by every person entering any Mode A store, or other satisfactory arrangements must be made for preventing the introduction into the store of any grit or exposed iron or steel.

29. No person entering or remaining in any Mode A store shall have in his possession any tobacco, pipe, or matches, or any substance likely to cause, or capable of causing, explosion or fire, or any article consisting wholly or in part of exposed iron or steel.

30. Every tool or implement used in any Mode A store shall, unless it is made of copper, brass, or other soft metal, or of wood, be completely covered with some safe and suitable material.

31. No repairs shall be carried out in or to any Mode A store until--

(a) all explosives have been removed therefrom, and (b) the store has been thoroughly washed out and render- ed clean.

32. Nothing shall be kept in any Mode A store except explosives, containers thereof and receptacles therefor, and tools and implements used in work directly connected with the storage of the explosives.

33.-(1) The licensee of every Mode A store shall employ two watchmen approved by the Commissioner of Police for the purpose of guarding the store.

(2) Such watchmen shall be on duty either-

(a) separately, or

(b) together, and

(c) in either case, at such times

as the Commissioner of Police shall direct.

34. The licensee of every Mode A store shall, if so required by the Commissioner of Police, and at the expense of the licensee, maintain a police guard at the store to prevent the delivery to or issue from the store of explosives without a permit issued by the Licensing Authority and to prevent trespass.

35. The word "Danger-Building" shall appear in Eng- lish and Chinese, in legible letters and characters, on the outside of every door of every Mode A store.
