23. In this Part "explosives" means any substance included in Category 1, and any reference to a class relates to that class in Category 1.
Section A.-Storage.
24. In this Section-

Mode A store means

(a) a building substantially constructed of iron, stone, or concrete,
(b) a securely constructed fire proof safe, or
(c) an excavation formed in solid rock, earth, or mine refuse not liable to ignition, and not opening into, from, or out of any mine, quarry, tunnel, or underground place which is used for the carrying on of any work or for the employment of any person, and
"Mode B store means a substantial trunk, box, cup- board, or drawer, made of wood or of japanned or tinned iron or steel, and permanently kept in a building, which is constructed of fire resisting materials, and which is not a Mode A store.
25.-(1) Except for the explosives mentioned in para- graphs (2), (3) and (4) of this regulation, all explosives must be stored in a Mode A store.
(2) The storage of Class 5 explosives is prohibited.
(3) The storage of explosives the manufacture or import of which for general sale is not authorized in the United Kingdom is prohibited.
(4) Safety cartridges and cartridges for small arms of Class 6 and explosives of Class 7 may be stored in a Mode B
store.
26. No Mode A store shall be situated in any dwelling- house or in any building used wholly or in part for residential purposes, or in any building attached to or connected with any dwellinghouse.
