Telegraph Office for this service may have accounts rendered to them every month subject to the provision that such accounts are settled before the 15th of the month following that for which they are rendered.

SEMAPHORE TELEGRAMS.

Semaphore telegrams are telegrams exchanged with ships by means of semaphores established at the Signal Stations. They may be written either in English or in groups of letters of the International Code of Signals, and must bear the paid service indication = SEM =.

The address of the semaphore telegrams to ships should contain :-

(a) Name of the addressee.

(b) Name of the vessel, (supplemented in the case of vessels bearing the same name by the nationality of the vessel, and if necessary, by its distinguishing signal under the International Code of Signals).

(c) Name of the Signal Station.

The charge for a semaphore telegram, is at the rate of 5 cents per word, which must be prepaid.

In the case of semaphore telegrams signalled from ships the charge is collected from the receiver.

WIRELESS LICENCES.

The following classes of wireless licences are issued by the Postmaster General, Hong Kong.

(A).

Broadcast Receiving Licence.

Application forms and licences are obtainable at the Government Radio Office, 1st Floor, General Post Office, Hong Kong. The fee for a licence is $12.00

per annum.

An initial licence covers a period of twelve months from the day of the month of issue. A renewal licence covers a full period of twelve months from the date on which the previous licence expires.

Duplicates of broadcast receiving licences obtainable at a fee of $1.00.
