Power load controller
Electrical power costs in industrial plants and large buildings can be re- duced by installation of the Sangamo type PC peak load controller which initiates an alarm or trips loads when the power load reaches a prede- termined peak.
The cost of electrical power is al- most universally based on a combina- tion of peak power required, called "demand" and the total amount of energy used, as measured in kilo- watthours. The rates for electrical power usually in- clude a demand charge per KW or KVA of peak pow- er and a sliding scale of rates per kilowatthour based on a set number of hours use of maximum demand. Electrical equip- ment which often may be operated at off-peak periods includes water heaters, steam genera- tors, furnaces, and ventilating motors. The controller is intended mainly to give warning that a peak power de- mand is being approached, permitting discretionary control of power de- mand. It may also be arranged to automatically trip the circuit breakers on controllable loads.
PC controller
The controller contains a thermal- ly lagged polyphase wattmeter. Used with suitable instrument transform- ers, it will measure any power load.

Asbestos cement pipes
Asbestos cement pipes for water sup- ply are displayed by Hume Industries (Far East) Ltd. The pipes are manu- factured from a homogenous mixture of asbestos fibres and Portland cement in a surplus of water. They are test- ed to twice their working pressure be- fore dispatch.
