Submersible pump

Dolphin self-priming flexible shaft driven submersible pumps have simple construction in which power from a small engine or electric motor is transmitted to the pump impeller via a flexible shaft. This eliminates faults in the prime mover due to water immersion.

Tractor shovel

Mitsubishi exhibit their BS3 tractor shovel. This is a highly manoeuvr- able small machine, weighing 7,265 lb. and measuring 12 ft. 1 in. long by 4 ft. 9 in. wide. Powered by a 35 h.p. diesel engine, it has a bucket capacity of 1⁄2 cu. yd.

Maximum loading height at an angle of 45 degrees is 2m. A single lever controls all operations: bucket raising, lowering, dumping or tilting back. Steering clutch and steering brake are linked to simplify driving.

A low centre of gravity and full- length ground contact of the tracks enables the vehicle to climb slopes of 30 degrees and to have a maximum side inclination of 35 degrees. There are four forward speeds up to 5.4

Vibrating roller

A two-cylinder, air-cooled 24 h.p. diesel engine with electric starting powers the Simesa model RVT-60 towed vibrating roller. It is fitted with a centrifugal clutch that auto- matically engages and disengages the vibrations.

The pump which can be easily car- ried, can handle slurries of soil or sand. Maximum head is 22 m. and maximum capacity 480 litre min. The standard flexible shaft is 5 m. long and 13 mm. diameter.

Air compressor

Two sliding vane oil cooled single stage compressors are shown by IĤI. Operating at a discharge pressure of 7 kg per sq. cm., the units have out- puts of 4.6 and 7.1 cu. metres per min.

Model 250 A, illustrated, is power- ed by an Isuzu DA 120 P diesel en- gine. The discharge volume of the compressor is automatically trolled in proportion to the variations in the required air volume. This re- duces fuel waste.

When a dangerous condition exists in the engine, i.e. low oil pressure or high water temperature, the engine is stopped automatically.

Bulldozer

Largest of the Komatsu machines on show is the D120A bulldozer. It has a drawbar pull of 54,030 lb.. and an operating weight of 57.000 lb.

Two types of drive are available: direct drive with five forward speed gear transmission or Torqflow drive with four-member torque converter and planetary gear transmission.

The 235 h.p. six-cylinder diesel engine is mounted as a power plant. It develops its maximum working output at 1,300 r.p.m. and produces a maximum torque of 1,027 ft. lb. at 900 r.p.m.

Air conditioner

Reillo air conditioners are made in various sizes for large and small room conditioning. The Model 203 on dis- play is suitable for a room volume of 140-200 cu. metres.

Btu/hour and about 11⁄2 litres per hour of moisture is removed. Fresh air delivered is 100 cu. metres hour and air exhaust is 150 cu. metres/hour. The fan motor speed is 820-930 r.p.m.

The 203 is a 220V 50 cy, unit. It measures 40 cm. high, 70 cm. wide and 61 cm, deep.
