Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with ample closet >pace to each room, are provided on the upper floor. A large partly covered terrace extends the full width of the front of the building, part of this terrace providing the roof of the ground floor verandah which forms the outdoor area to the main living section,
A rather unusual arrangement deserves particular mention. On the plan of the first floor is shown an area marked as amah's room and drying room situated over the kitchen and pantry. This is reached by means of two or three steps leading down from the upper hall and is entirely isolated from the rest of the house. This is now being used as a card-room and study and is ideal for this purpose.
The sloping roof extends well beyond the walls of the upper part of the house. The building design owes its distinctive character and pleasant appearance to the propor- tioning and pattern of this roof cover, particularly in the manner in which it has been emphasized as a decorative element.
