The electrical installation. being undertaken by The China Engineers, Ltd., will include Johnson & Phillips Cables and Switchgear, "Simplex" Conduits and "Nettles" accessory fittings. An exclusive feature is the choice of Troughton & Young fit- tings for interior and balcony light- ing. Guest rooms will be equipped with marble based table lamps and bathrooms with strip-light mirror fittings. Recessed lighting will be installed in corridors, and suspend- ed ceiling lights in all public areas.
Cost of the new hotel is ap proximately $5,000,000 including lifts and air-conditioning, but not including and furnishing which amount to over $2,000,000. The cubic cost cost works out at $2.20 a cubic foot exclusive of lifts and air- conditioning.
