Senior positions are held by two Asian graduates who have been associated with Dr. Paton for more than 13 years, and they are now joined under a reciprocal arrangement with the Dunlop Research Organization in England, by two British research chemists.
The new research centre, which is probably one of the best equipped units controlled by private enterprise anywhere in the East, will maintain close contact and coordination with the research department of the Dunlop Rubber Co. in England, and its work cannot fail to be of great value to the staple industry of this country.
The buildings are constructed with reinforced concrete frames and floors, while the walls are of multi-coloured local Malacca brick facings. Roof construction is of Marseilles type Indian tiles or kapor.

"semastic" tiles by Dunlop's. The two laboratories and the office are air-conditioned. The roads are formed in and of natural laterite, while all the services are laid on.
The electrical power is generated by a "Dunlop" power station and is DC, a certain amount of AC current being available for laboratory use.
The main laboratory block provides accommodation for Senior Agents Staff, i.e. three self-contained flats compris- ing living room, two bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom.
