The large oval shaped restaurant accommodate 140 people; its shape was influenced by the contours of the site and by the desire on the part of the architect to take the maximum advantage of the really magnificent views. Almost one half of the wall circumference is formed by full-length windows, part of which give access to the balcony which is protected by a wrought iron railing and part is open to the terrace leading down to the lawn.

The restaurant has a white plaster ceil- ing with modern Danish lighting fittings. There is a full-length glazed wall be- tween the lounge and the restaurant with ап inset teak frame to the double en- trance doors, The teak furniture is up- holstered in dark green and gold, which colours are repeated in the bold-pattern- ed curtains covering most of the un- glazed walls; the wall adjacent to the service doors is of white plaster with teak fillets. well known hotelier, Mr. A. K. Dimond. Other service rooms are provided in the kitchen wing with servants' quarters on the floor above.

The bedroom wing runs from south- west to north-east, with corridors along its north-west side. Above the ground floor, these corridors have vertical louver- ed walls, the louvers being of reinforced concrete. These provide excellent cross- ventilation and exclude the hot afternoon Protection against the possibility of small children getting out is afforded by trellis work and Hower boxes.
