The whole of the ground floor area will be rented out as shops and offices, which will have living quar- ters available as required. There will be direct staircase links between the shops and the living quarters.
Construction is of reinforced frame with concrete walls or hollow. block infill walls. It is based on an 18'-0" module and the depth is 30'-0" per bay. Floors and ceilings are of rendered concrete slabs. A feature of the design will be the use of cantilevered access balconies. This will help to give stress on the horizontal feature in the design.
Precast design panels will be used for filling balconies and access bal conies in the form of balustrading, The housing for lift machines and water tanks in the roofs will be neat structures specially planned achieve unity of design and also to create a controlled roof line for these huge buildings.

As the ground floor area is used mainly for shop and office spaces, there will be a 3'-0" deep panel run- ning right around the building for use as advertisement panels. This will permit proper control of adver- tising. For flexibility, shop and office owners are able to rent bays of 18′-0′′ to suit their needs and redecorate or reconstruct them as required subject to the Board's ap- proval.
