Although the new science block extension is of considerable length it has only one staircase, but it con- nected by a cantiliever bridge to the older part of the College, giving access to existing staircases.

The extension is on and is of reinforced concrete. the first floor are the three main laboratories for the three science subjects biology, chemistry and physics together with the neces sary preparation rooms.

On the second floor is an art room. with plastic domes in the roof to give extra light, a geography room (each with its own storeroom attach- ed), two class rooms and a staff room. All these rooms open on to an open connecting corridor running the whole length of the building.
Much of the furniture built into these specialist rooms has been de- signed to the wishes of the teachers who will be using them, so far as they came within the limits of the contract, and the rooms will be among the best equipped in the Colony.
The extension faces east and west, and there is a considerable amount of concrete sunshading incorporated into the elevation to break the effect of the sun's rays.
Piling was carried out by Pressure Piling Co. (H.K.) Ltd. and the general contractor for the extension is Hop Cheong and Co. Nominated sub-contractors and suppliers include:
