The rest of the house is devoted to a very well planned pantry-kitchen unit, a large trunk room and a guest lavatory. whilst the garage and the servants' quarters, although form- ing part of the main building, are so placed as not to be overlooked by the rest of the house.
One of the features of the design of the building is the disposition and shape of the windows which have been made only 4′0′′ high and completely protected by wide over hanging canopies but extending horizontally along practically the full length of the outer wall of each room. vided ample daylight but at the same time protects the rooms from excess sunlight resulting in cool, bright rooms in any weather.

The walls of the building are constructed of "Vi-Con"* blocks and the entire roof slab is of hollow tile reinforced concrete design, thus providing built-in insulation into walls and roof which further assists in keeping the tem- perature inside at a favourable level during the hot season.
The architect for the building is the well-known French architect, Mr. P. L. L. Biau; the General Contrac- tors, the Hong Kong Building Service. The steel windows, manufactured by Williams & Williams, were provided by Davie, Boag & Co., Ltd. The Tung On Plumbing Co., Ltd. were responsible for the sanitary installation, while all the electrical work, in concealed ducts. was carried out by the Engineering Department of U. Spalinger & Co., Ltd.
