NE of the largest residential buildings in Kowloon will shortly be constructed on a key To Kwa Wan site. The building to be known as I- Feng Mansion will be bounded by two major roads, To Kwa Wan Road and Chikiang Street. five minutes by bus

It will be about from Kowloon

City pier or Hung Hom pier and about 10 minutes from the Star Ferry pier.

A 15 story structure, it will cover an area of 62,314 square feet and is expected to cost about $15 million. It will be completed in 1966.

It will consist of five blocks con- taining 870 flats ranging from 306 to 1225 square feet served by fifteen lifts.

The outside appearance will be a pleasant and invigorating one, with most of the external walls covered in shanghai plaster. The building being so broad, yellow ochre and opaque red mosaic blocks will be inlaid alternately on the external walls to avoid the feeling of monotony and supplementing that of building height.

Sheer load-bearing wall structure was chosen because of the great saving in structural costs, especially in steel reinforcement and concrete. Increased rigidity and extra also result from this system of con- struction.
