New British Embassy buildings in S. E. Asia cope
with hot sunny local climates
The British Embassy's new office. building in Djakarta contrasts striking- ly with traditionally styled Indonesian buildings in the same grounds. A landscaped surround of tropical plants will eventually blend the area into one attractive scene.

EW British Embassy Offices have recently been completed in Saigon, the capital of Vietnam, and in Djakarta, the capital of Indonesia. Both are four-storey buildings in the modern idiom, using a mixture of local and imported materials.
Both buildings were designed in the Chief Architect's Office of H.B.M.'s Ministry of Public Building and Works in London.
