Semi-glazed office partitioning is erect- ed to a module of 6ft. x 7ft.
The partitioning is an easily disman- tled system, devised by the architects, in which the panels are positioned and stabilised by small jacks underneath. The jacks are left in position, hidden by the baseboard, and are simply let down when an office re-arrangement is needed.
Accommodation
The basement floor, of approxi- mately 50,000 sq. ft., accommodates all the utility and supervisory control units of the administration building and the theatre, including a large re- production centre, a 150-seat seminar hall and storage areas. On the same basement level beneath the theatre is a large employees' cafeteria to seat 408 and kitchen utilities, orchestra pit and rehearsal rooms.
On the first floor is the imposing entrance lobby, flanked on both sides by sculptural plastic pylons with light- diffuser reflectors which project a dancing light effect. All 12 entrance doors are of frameless glass and are automatically operated.
Two escalators face the main en- trance lobby and lead to the commer- cial department and the theatre's bal- cony floor level. All floors from the second to the 13th are offices of the Meralco administration, while the 14th floor, called the Lighthouse, contains a recreation room, private dining room and bar, conference room and deck roof.
The decor throughout the building is to a luxury standard. There is a preponderance of local marble on the exterior and interior walls, softened by fine native woodwork, furnishings,
