From ordinary film negatives glossy prints may be made and processed in 20 seconds. If contact negatives are used they may be exposed on the copier itself using yellow label paper which is made in three grades. Alter- natively, lilac label paper can be ex- posed on any conventional enlarger or copying camera, such as those printing back from microfilm, and quickly processed.

The machines producing such copies are known as the Multifax ML3 and the M2. A desk-top ma- chine measuring 24 in. x 28 in. x 91⁄2

INTERCOM

Central Control Unit Calls 15 Sub - stations

THE Control unit of the high-power Flexicall communication system may be linked to seven or 15 sub-stations up to half a mile away. Weatherproof- ed loudspeakers for external mount- ing enable the system to be used on site, for tower-crane communications, etc., as well as in factories and other premises. A wooden-cased speaker can be supplied for internal use.

The basic transistorised equipment consists of a metal-cased master station linked by twisted cable to the required number of sub-units. Maxi- mum dimensions of the master station are 12 in. long by 7% in. wide by 5 in. at the back, sloping to 4 in. at the front.

A chromium-plated grille, position- ed to the rear, shields the microphone and loudspeaker, while in front of this is the volume control, with either seven ог 15 selector buttons, each with its indicator light, towards the front of the case. To contact the sub- stations, one or more of the buttons are pressed and the recipient can talk

to the caller while 50 yd. away from the sub-unit, allowing him to remain working.

A call button on the sub-station registers a two-second tone signal at the master station and lights the cor- responding button on the panel until the call is answered.

The Flexicall equipment is designed to work on 24-v. d.c.. 110-v. a.c. or 210 240-v. a.c. Extras available in- clude a horn loudspeaker for paging. a 20-w. amplifier and an extension bell with optional on/off controls.
