precast tetrahedrons, 221⁄2 in. thick and weighing in all 3.5 tons, 144 nine-inch diameter precast struts with a weight of 0.3 tons, and in situ post-tensioned reinforced concrete joints all of which represents an average thickness of 61⁄2 in. concrete.

The roof was analysed manually as a space frame and was then checked by a computer, which at the same time
provided valuable information for secondary stresses and deflections.
The roof structure is post-tension- ed in each diagonal with two 12/0.276 wires with Cabco spiral anchorages, and in two ridges near each column with 4/0.276 wires with a specially developed dead-end anchorage to fit into the narrow in situ rib.
In order to get access to the an-
chorages for a symmetrical stressing pattern, every alternate roof was placed 1ft. above the final level and lowered on to the columns after stress- ing. All deformation measurements taken on site corresponded accurately with the design assumptions.
Cost
Generally the external finish is off- form concrete and mosaic-tile infill panels. The internal finish is quarry tile flooring and mosaic tile walls.
The final building cost was HK$1,450,286.
