Close Coupled Suite with Foot Pedal

LATEST addition to the Fordham range of flushing cisterns is the Uniterna close coupled suite with Tredflo foot pedal operation.

The cistern is made from poly- styrene and is fitted with a plastic syphon and a Delrin ballvalve. It can be used with water of any hard- ness, including sea water.

The vitreous china pan has its narrowest point at the W.C. sump so that the possibility of blockage is eliminated. Only lin. of movement

is needed on the pedal to operate the cistern. The unit measures 261⁄4 in. from the wall to the front of the pan and is 30in. high.

Fordham Pressings, Ltd., Dudley Road, Wolverhampton, UK. are the makers.

Agents are: Tan Kwang Seng and Co., Ltd., Singapore; Hut- chison (Building) Ltd., Hong Kong: and Rundle and Co., Ltd.. Bangkok.

TRUNKING

Hank Bushes Allow Speedy Assembly

THE number of components in Fast-Fit conduit trunking has been reduced to a minimum in order to simplify erection. The parts have hank bushes, and can be quickly snapped together; screws are only used where the weight necessitates particularly strong joints.

Made of galvanised sheet steel rust-and corrosion-proof, and requir- ing no painting-Fast-Fit is said to stand up to hard knocks. The range comprises: 2 in. sq. trunking channel, 15 in. joining coupler, suspension unit, cable-retaining clip, end cover.

Fast-fit snap-on sections

suspension bracket (with split pin), 34 in. deep flanged coupling, 51⁄2 in. right-angle bend, 7% in. riser bend (left or right). 9 in. deep three-way box, 81⁄2 in. by 81⁄2 in. four-way box, external lid and internal lid. Because of the absence of screws, suspension brackets and external lids can be slid along to give access to the wiring.

Courtney. Pope (Electrical) Ltd., Amhurst Park Works, London, N.15, UK, are the makers. Distributors include R.E. Morris, Ltd., Singapore, and China Engineers, Ltd.. Hong Kong.

AIR DISTRIBUTION

Low Pressure Flow Through Perforated Ceiling

AN

air-distribution

system,

de-

veloped by the Armstrong Cork Co., Lancaster. Penn., USA, employs a new type of acoustic ceiling which al- lows conditioned air to flow directly into the room at low pressure and velocity through thousands of tiny perforations.

The system eliminates a substantial amount of ductwork. In many cases, a single stub duct is all that is requir- ed to deliver the necessary volume of air to the plenum space above the ceiling. The conditioned air simply

this disperses throughout

space, builds up a slight pressure, and is pushed down into the room through the ceiling perforations steadily forc- ing the air just below it lower and lower into the room.

The ventilating perforations in the acoustical material are blended in with the surface design and cannot be distinguished in an installed ceiling.

Since uniformity of air flow through the new ventilating ceiling is directly related to the uniformity of pressure in the plenum above the ceiling, Armstrong engineers have developed a complete plenum engineering pro- cedure designed to minimize the effect of such factors as friction, tur- bulence and static pressure regain which can affect plenum pressure.
