WATER CLOSET
Air Conditioning Unit Removes Odours
THF development of a water closet air conditioning unit which removes bathroom odours is announced by Briggs Manufacturing Co., 6600, East 15 Mile Road, Warren, Michigan, USA.
Patented Nu-Aire Toilet Ventilator, the unit is available in both one- and two-piece closets. Pre-assembled in a closet's water tank, it involves no added cost for piping or special installation procedures.
A mechanical device. without motors or complicated controls, the Nu-Aire uses water pressure to create vacuum which draws air from the closet through the overflow tube and forces it down the drain. A two-way seal of the trap cup prevents escape

or back-up of sewer gas. Water sup- ply and pressure is the same used in ordinary closets.

DEVELOPED for trimming the over- lapping edges of plastic laminates fixed to a backing material, the Ger- man-made ELU MKF 13 incor- porates a guiding device for follow- ing shaped edges and a special com- bination cutter that will perform three different operations. Its single- phase, 700W motor can be removed

from the base to allow dovetailing, grooving or rebating.
When used in conjunction with the guide, the tipped cutter will simul- taneously trim the top surface of the laminate and also slot the edge of the underlying board to accept the key of a tongued edging strip. If a laminat- ed strip is to be used on the edge section, the cutter can also perform the trimming operations on top and bottom overlaps.
Weighing 14 lb., the trimmer is housed in a cast-aluminium frame which incorporates a laminated-plas- tic base, measuring 1 ft. 2 in. long by 8 in. wide, and adjusting wheels for fine setting of the cutter and guide. The electric motor drives the cutter at a speed of 22,000 r.p.m.
