EXPANSION JOINT Filler has Compression and Recovery Properties
PRODUCED in sheet form by Ex- pandite Ltd. Chase Road, London, N.W.10, a closed-cell rubber filler for expansion joints is intended for applications requiring easy compres- sibility and good recovery powers. It is claimed that the filler will recover 98 per cent of its thickness in 20 min. after three cycles of compres- sion to 50 per cent.

POLYTHENE
Grades to Suit Many Uses
POLYTHENE has many applications in building construction and Gering Plastics Co., Kenilworth, New Jersey, USA, are now marketing grades to suit such uses as vapour barrier, con- crete curing agent cover, flashing, and tarpaulin.
There are three types clear, for applications not exposed to direct sunlight; black for extended outdoor use: and opaque white for concrete curing blankets. Seven thicknesses range from 1 mil. to 10 mil., those most common in building work being 2, 4 and 6 mil.
Seamless widths of up to 40 ft. and prepackaged rolls, 50 ft. long are produced.
As a water vapour barrier, the 2 mil. Ger-Pak film is applied to ceilings and walls as near as possible to the warm side of the construction. Joints are lapped and stapled.
