Introduced for the first time. Knotty Cedar has a soft tan shade, designed to give an effective impression of tim- ber planking. It comes in the 18 in. width only.

Two other timber effects are made only in 36 in. wide rolls 6 yd. long. Driftwood, with an eroded, uneven grain effect, has a bleached effect, in a light mushroom shade. In contrast, Rosewood offers a deep, rich brown colour and a strongly emphasised grain pattern.

LOCKS
Redesigned Series Provides For Master Keying
NINE cylinder-rim locks, finished in silver-grey, with a redesigned dark- grey turn knob, comprise the Yale Style 80 series, which includes night- latches and deadlatches in standard and narrow-case sizes. The series per- mits a master-key system for business premises, hotels, etc., ог a multi- storey-flat system where the different individual flat keys all open a main outer door.
The visibly-fixed Model 81 roller bolt deadlock, with its standard 31⁄2 x 2% x % in. die-cast case, prevents the accidental locking of front en- trance doors to multi-storey flats: the roller bolt can be deadlocked by the key outside or the knob inside, but,

when not deadlocked, the roller al- lows a push pull opening. Two other visibly-fixed, standard-sized locks are Models 82 and 83, the former pro- viding a simple deadlock with no in- termediate latching, and the latter af- fording deadlocking which throws the bolt an extra 8 in.
Neither of the standard-size night- latches, Models 86 and 87. can be deadlocked from the inside. As the snib retains the bolt in the withdrawn position only, entry can always be ef- fected by key from outside, making the locks suitable for use in hotels. Model 86 has no lip at the fore-end, and is supplied with a cylinder bush for fitting to metal doors. The Yale 88 is a standard concealed-fixing nightlatch, but the identical-looking Model 89 recommended for glass- panelled doors has a deadlock which is effected by a reverse turn of the key from the outside.
Each model has a five-pin tumbler. polished brass cylinder and rose, al- lows 24,000 key changes, and is sup- plied with two nickel-silver keys. Every lock can also be master-keyed with a six-pin main cylinder, a sys- tem which offers 12,200 variations.

machi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. The compact new system with 16-digit capacity and two memory registers weighs only 22 lb.
The integrated circuits used in the new system are of the MOS (metal oxide semiconductor) type which is considered to be the best suitable for small-scale electronic calculators.
The keyboard has 10 number keys and 14 functional keys. Because of the two memory registers, the system can perform a wide range of calcula- tions, including evolution. It features both automatic and pre-set decimal point alignment and has a 16-digit dis- play register.
Dimensions are: Width 15 in.; depth 19 in.; and height 6 in.

ROOFLIGHT
Diffuser Transmits 60 per cent of Light
DESIGNED to provide diffused natur- al lighting through roof structures. the Dalite polyester rooflight transmits 60 per cent of the available light value. It is easily installed and com- bines lightness and strength with good heat-insulation properties.
Standard units measure 4 ft. wide by 2 in. deep by 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 ft. long, although other sizes can be pro- Each fitting vided to special order. comprises two skins, moulded from glass-reinforced polyester resin and

Because of their weight of approximately 2 lb. per sq. ft. the fittings can be screwed dir- ectly to all forms of flat or sloping roof, including concrete, wood, metal decking and strawboard. They are cap- able of withstanding uniformly-distri- buted loads of up to 200 lb. per sq. ft.

RELEASE AGENT
Silicone Aerosol Spray Releases Sticking Parts
RELEASIL A. a silicone release agent, is marketed in a 16 oz. aerosol spray. A little sprayed into a mould or on to glued parts prevents ad- hesion, and a protective layer applied to surfaces surrounding an area to be painted, allows any paint splatter to be wiped away.
Produced in a concentration suit- able for most general requirements. Releasi A is colourless, non-toxic and capable of resisting extreme varia- tions in temperature. The can has been designed to provide a compact spray pattern, with a minimum of splash-back or running.
