The tee-beams provide a 7 ft. 6 in. overhang on two sides, furnishing pro- tection from the sun on the north side, and a capony to protect customers at the drive-up windows along the south side of the building. The building was occupied only six months after con- struction began.

The centre (left and below) used more than 1.400 precast concrete channel slabs and a wide variety of other precast components, including tìns, planters. steps and railings. The slabs span 27 ft., and measure 3 ft. wide by 16 in. deep.

Jury Comment: "The architects are to be commended on their unusual concept. The work forms a cohesive campus and is a bold expression of the use of concrete, an approach with great potential.”
