* Approved by Special Warrant during the year.

The 2 posts of Senior Labour Officer were approved following a review of the increased scope of the Department.

As a result of a re-organization of the Labour Inspectorate, the establishment of new Factory and Labour Inspectorates was approved during 1963-64 consisting of the posts listed above as having been approved by Special Warrant during the year. The new posts were offset by the reduction of existing posts as indicated.

Four additional posts of Typist (including 1 supernumerary) are required to cope with the increasing volume of typing work in the Department.

Of the two new posts of Clerical Assistant, one is provided for the Trade Unions Section and one for the Labour Division as leave reserve for clerical staff.

The additional post of Messenger, which is for the Head Office, is offset by reduction of 1 supernumerary post.

Under Other Charges Special Expenditure a sum of $4,300 is included for the purchase of a dust sampling instrument for use by the Industrial Health Section.
