Administration Division
The post of Executive Officer replaces one of Treasury Accountant; the 2 additional posts of Assistant Trade Officer were approved during 1963-64 as a leave and training reserve.
Controls Division
Of the new posts, 1 Senior Revenue Inspector, 1 Revenue Inspector, 3 Revenue Sub-Inspectors, 3 Revenue Officers, 9 Assistant Revenue Officers and 1 Woman Assistant Revenue Officer are for duties at the new Tai Lam Revenue Station; 1 Woman Senior Revenue Officer and 2 Women Revenue Officers for anti-narcotics duties; and 7 Revenue Sub-Inspectors for duties in connexion with attendance at airport bonded stores, bonded warehouses, and for escorting dutiable goods at the airport.
Development Division
The additional posts of 1 Senior Trade Officer and 2 Trade Officers approved by Special Warrant during 1963/64 are for economic intelligence and statistical work. 2 additional Assistant Trade Officer posts are provided, for Trade Publications and Industrial Development duties.
Textiles and Certification Division
The additional posts listed above are provided to meet the expanding commitments of the Division in relation to certification, preference and quota control work.
Supernumerary Staff
The majority of the supernumerary posts are provided for duties in the Hong Kong Products Display Centre, the Budgetary Survey Unit and the Textiles Branch.
Other Charges Annually Recurrent shows an increase of $1,071,400 over 1963/64, due mainly to additional provisions for trade promotion, data processing equipment for statistical work, and the renting of further office accommodation.
Under Special Expenditure, provision of $7,900 is included in the subhead "Cable and Wireless stores" to cover the purchase of certain spare parts under the terms of a revised agreement with the Com- pany covering the provision of technical services.
