* Approved by Special Warrant during the year.
The 3 new posts of Resettlement Officer are to replace 2 Health Inspectors and 1 Clerk of Works Class II previously seconded from the Urban Services Department and the Public Works Department respectively. The other additional posts are required in view of increased accommodation in existing estates and in the new estates in Yuen Long, Kwai Chung, Tin Wan, Tsz Wan Shan, Sau Mau Ping and San Po Kong.
The reduction in the number of departmental vehicles and the wider use of motor scooters has resulted in the reduction of 8 posts of Motor Driver.
Under Other Charges Annually Recurrent, the increase of $150,800 over the previous year's figure is due to the expected increase in resettlement domestic and factory accommodation to be administered.
