200
An overall decrease of $85,600 under Other Charges Annually Recurrent is due mainly to the fact that the 1961-62 provision for operation of fisheries vessels proved to be an over-estimate.
Under Special Expenditure, funds are provided for the procurement of major equipment for the research vessel "Cape St. Mary” ($63,200—including a revote of $29,000 for tuna long-lining equipment); for specialist fisheries research equipment ($16,300) and for a hydraulic traction dynamometer ($10,000) to be used for engine trials and correct propeller selection. A sum of $11,000 is provided for the replacement of one motor vehicle. A revote of $10,000 is included to meet the cost of renovations to the proposed new Fisheries Extension Office at Tai Po Kau and a sum of $100,000 for the reprovisioning, in new accommoda- tion, of the Fisheries Training Classes. Token provision of $10,000 is also included for experimental work in connexion with the stocking of the Colony's reservoirs and the breeding of carp.
