CHRONOLOGY OF REMARKABLE EVENTS
Inhabitants of Hongkong declared British subjects, 1841. The Additional Article to Chefoo Convention came into force, 1887. First meeting of International Commission on Opium at Shanghai, 1909. 1,000 men of Shanghai Defence Force arrived in Hongkong, 1927. Hon. Mr. J. P. Braga appointed to Legislative Council, Hongkong, as first Portugese representative, 1929.
