THE COMMITTEE had before them a telegram C-in-C. Hong Kong to the Ambassador in Chung-king requesting him to make the strongest representations to the highest authority in order to secure the immediate release of the aircraft passengers and crew which had been forced down by adverse weather conditions at the seaplane base at Samar Hainan Island, and which the Chinese Authorities had detained under armed guard.
