Far East.
Hong Kong.
Though Great Britain claims no
territory as a result of the war, we have
no intention of giving up territory which
was ours before the war. Especially does
this apply to Hong Kong which was built up
from nothing by British enterprise and
government into a great free port for the
service of all trade and commerce in the
Far East. Hong Kong has been the victim
of the full figour of enemy aggression
and H.M.G. regard themselves as bearing a
responsibility for its restoration as a
territory of the British Commonwealth
and as a centre of stability and welfare
in the Far East.
