Hong Kong frontier situation unchanged except

for occupation Sha-U-Chung on north shore Mirs bay by a

small force Japanese. Situation Shanghai-French completed

withdrawal their portion extra settlement area on June 25th.

Area then occupied by Japanese infantry with tanks and

gendarmes. In spite of verbal protest made on the spot

by a liaison officer, party of 24 armed Japanese soldiers

entered British B sector afterwards moving to their own

area.

2016

French explain withdrawal ordered by their

(?Ambassador) on the understanding no action would thereafter

be directed against French concession. This action against

French does not appear due to Tokyo but on initiative of

local Japanese Army authorities.
